Audiograbber

Audiograbber is a beautiful piece of software that grabs digital audio from cd's. It copies the audio digitally-not through the soundcard-which enables you to make perfect copies of the originals. It can even perform a test to see that the copies really are perfect. Audiograbber can also automatically normalize the music, delete silence from the start and/or end of tracks, and send them to a variety or external MP3 encoders, such as Fraunhofers L3enc, or even use some MP3/WMA encoders internally for automatic creation of MP3's. Audiograbber can download and upload disc info from freedb, an Internet compact disc database. You can even record your vinyl LP's or cassette tapes with Audiograbber and make wav's or MP3's of them. There are a lot more functions in Audiograbber, but to put it simply: Audiograbber has the most features one can wish from such a program!

Significant advantages:
A nice and easy understandable user interface.
A good helpfile with descriptions of all functions and settings.
The program is very flexible and configurable and still easy to understand.
It works with almost all CD-ROM drives that can read digital audio.

Another great thing with this software is that it does not put a single file in your windows directories! No DLL's, OCX's, device drivers, spyware, adware or whatever else that messes up the computer. Not a single entry in the registry or win.ini. If you delete the Audiograbber directory it's all gone, that's it!

Audiograbber used to be shareware but is from February 9, 2004 released as freeware! Get it from the download page.

February 9 : Audiograbber is now freeware. new!
See statment below and just get it from the download page.
The new version is named 1.83 and it is almost the same as 1.82. There are no new functions, just some minor bugfixes and smaller improvements. Normally this would only justify a build increase (from 1.82 build 2 to 1.82 build 3) but since it is now freeware I feel it is best to give it its own version number.
Development will continue and it should not take that long before we see a version 1.84 with support for some new internal encoders. I am working with Spoon from dBPowerAMP with that. (Basically, he is telling me how to support the internal encoders he have for his program dBPowerAMP).

December 25 : Audiograbber will be freeware. new!
On February 9, 2004 Audiograbber will be released as freeware. When I sold my other cd-ripper AudioCatalyst to Xing I signed a contract which has not allowed me to release Audiograbber as freeware but on February 9, 2004 that contract expires. It has been a great journey and experience making Audiograbber and it has paid off well so now I feel it is time to give something back to the "Internet and MP3 community" so freeware it will be. I am also fed up with all the administrative work which I now hope it will be less of. I will continue developing Audiograbber and with less administrative work I can hopefully spend more time making new versions.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all of you guys out there!

(I'm already a bit nervous, English is not my mother tongue but I will do my best).

You may store the free audiograbber (agfreesetup.exe) on your own server as long as you don't link to any cracks or warez sites. I'd even appreciate it, because it lowers the bandwidth usage on my own server. For a more formal permission send me a request at
